The Veo camera tour made it’s fourth stop in Phoenix, Arizona for the Presidents Day Tournament hosted by SC del Sol. The team being recorded flew in from chilly Kansas City, happy to leave behind the snow and travel to a soccer tournament in Phoenix.
They played soccer teams from LA, Colorado, and Alaska. They racked up 20 goals across all the games and only allowed 3. In their final game they were down 2-0 but battled back and hit a free kick right at the end to put them into the champion spot – congrats ladies! Below is a highlight reel of some of their goals.
If you’d like our Veo camera to come to your town or showcase you can book a stop on the tour.
Veo Camera Tournament Tips
Typically teams provide their own tripod on the U.S. tour but in this case we live in the same town so they took one of our Manfrotto stands along on the plane. They discovered that a golf travel bag wasn’t big enough for the tripod but a ski bag did the trick. Here’s a photo of the tripod in the bag, was not only good for checking the tripod but then they could carry it to the games.
When we met up to pass off the camera and tripod we also sent along a Wi-Fi Bridge and a Halo Portable Charger. We sent along the Wi-Fi bridge so they could upload the games from their hotel room if they needed to. Turns out there were 4 different Wi-Fi networks at the Hampton Inn & suites and 3 didn’t work but the 4th one did.
The team had to enter two passwords (room and name) but finally got the WiFi bridge working.. The speed wasn’t fantastic using the wi-fi in their room so they tried the business center and it was a lot faster there so they uploaded the rest of the games that way. At some hotels the business center upload doesn’t work so its good to have a Wi-Fi bridge in case. The other benefit is you can leave it in your room and you don’t have to baby sit the camera in the business center. The reason you’d really like to upload the games the night after you play them is to clean up space on the camera. If you only have 4 games then you should be able to store them all at once on the Veo camera but once you start recording more than that you worry about running out of space on a tournament weekend.
The Halo Portable Charger is nice because you can charge the camera in the car in between games as you’re grabbing a bite to eat or driving to a different field. If you’re using your cell phone network to upload your game via the Wi-Fi bridge then it needs to be plugged in. The Halo charger only has 1 AC outlet so we may look into another one that would let you charge the camera and power the Wi-Fi bridge at the same time in between games.
