This week the Veo Camera Tour made an international trip, to Santa Domingo in the Dominican Republic. At the Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez the Dominican National Women’s team played against the Puerto Rican Women’s national team in a close 1-1 game.
In this international friendly with two teams that had FIFA rankings of 95 and 96 you knew ahead of time it would likely be a close game. The team was together for training in the days leading up to the match. So in addition to the game, the team recorded several practice sessions. The coaches took the opportunity to review the footage in Veo and help the players improve.
If you’d like our Veo camera to come to your town or showcase you can book a stop on the tour.
Veo Feature – Veo Camera Plans
When Veo first launched in the U.S. your only option was an annual plan. During their first year in the States they heard a lot of feedback from teams that wanted to use the camera but didn’t need to record 12 months of the year. It was definitely a hurdle that some teams couldn’t get over so Veo listened to team feedback and added more options. At the time of this writing they now offer a monthly option and a 6 month plan in addition to the annual plan.
There are still cases where teams don’t necessarily fit into those plans. This Dominican Republic national team is a good example. The team comes together to train and play friendlies for a week or two a few times a year. The current plan structures didn’t really fit into their team calendar so they reached out to us to see how they could record their games when they needed without having to pay for the camera all year long. We worked together to figure out the best way for the team to get a camera on demand.
This is an example of why we’re running this Veo Camera tour, to help teams that want to use the camera that don’t need it year round. For example, the US WNT team played against Canada around the same time as the DR friendly.
That game was broadcast and my daughter watched it from our living room and threw a few pillows when Carli Loyd missed a few she should have put away. The budget and reach of the DR team is different than the US and Canada but the coaches still need video footage to review the game and help the team learn from match to match. We’re happy to help this program and these athletes as they come together to train and play!
