Today’s featured World Cup battle is between Peru and France. Peru is coming into this game from a tough 1-0 loss to Denmark in the first round of Group C play. France’s first match ended in a 2-1 victory over Australia.
In 1998 we were travelling around Europe by train the summer that France both hosted and won the World Cup. We were in Monte Carlo a few days after the final when we spotted a member of the national team seemingly receiving the royal treatment. It was an exciting time for French football and one that this year’s team would love to recreate. With talented players like Lloris, Umtiti, Pogba, Tolisso, Kanté, Griezmann, Giroud, Mbappé, Dembélé, Lemar, and Varane they’re off to a good start.
Today’s Dribble Up playlist is Les Bleus, the nickname of the French national team, and in honor of the team that won the 1998 World Cup. The playlist features the following drills:
- Strong Rolls
- Strong Rolls to Side Taps
- Sole Flicks
- Sole Flicks Alternating Roll
- Push Out
- Outside Tap & Push Out
- Right Foot In & Out Rolls
- Left Foot In & Out Rolls
- V Taps
Adelaide Gay and Tiffany Weimer are soccer players and coaches who created the Duktig Trainer to help coaches and players be more prepared and organized. After interviewing hundreds of coaches and players about their needs they created an all purpose soccer planner notebook that’s being used in colleges, high schools, and youth clubs all across the country.
Tiffany and Adelaide are great examples of not only how to train and play hard but also how to plan with purpose and how to start a business around something you believe in. We’re happy to have Duktig Brands as a supporter of today’s contest.
They’re giving away a Trainer 2.0+ to today’s winner!
